Sunflowers

Simple weddings can be fun. You choose your wedding color palette, mix them up and let your imagination run wild. Curate your wedding and reception playlist and work through the rest of the wedding day details. Then pull it all together by splashing sunflowers throughout, whether it be in your venue decor, centerpieces or even your wedding invitations. Sunflower bouquets are timeless and versatile – they’ll work perfectly with any colour scheme, theme or decor. They’re also super easy to find online!

Many couples envision a romantic beach wedding, with the sun, sea and shore setting the backdrop for the big day. Make it happen in the summertime! The beauty of planning a beach-themed wedding is that you can pull in any decor or color palette you’d like – what pulls it together is the destination itself!

Just be sure to take into consideration the ceremony backdrop that will be used on the beach to create a focal point, a location that is private enough for the ceremony itself and appropriate shaded seating for the guests if the ceremony will take place during the day

Tropical Brights and Lights Wedding Theme

If you plan to escape into the tropics for a summer wedding, then strongly consider going with a bold palette with colors like coral, teal, turquoise, lime and yellow.

If you’re not able to get away from a tropical wedding, you can easily incorporate this theme into an indoor wedding too – bring all the colors indoors and include flowers like birds of paradise and palm trees to cohesively bring it all together. Consider using fresh, bright flowers for the bridal party bouquets too!

Nautical Wedding Theme

Nautical weddings continue to be popular because they offer both romance and a sense of adventure. They’re perfect for capturing the spirit of a couple’s relationship!

Anchor (pun intended) on a primary color palette of blue and white with red accents. Decor will center on seashells, nets and anchors. And to fully pull the theme together, offer an abundance of seafood options but make sure dietary restrictions can be catered to as well.

Pumpkin Spice Wedding Theme

For autumnal wedding theme ideas, think about rustic weddings with a focus on vibrant natural colors. Use stone, wooden, metallic, and leafy colors. Try borrowing from the farmhouse wedding style for decor elements like barrel chairs, lanterns, and hay bales.

Curate food offerings that lean towards being substantial; Fall weddings are perfect for comfort-meals that are both satisfying and rich-tasting.

Weave the Fall theme throughout your entire wedding and use in-season local flowers to tie the theme all together. The only caution is to avoid using black as the contrast with orange will make guests think they’re attending a Hallowe’en themed wedding (unless that’s what you’re going for).

Fall Festival Wedding Theme

Outdoor venues, such as farms or country clubs, provide beautiful settings for outdoor weddings. The freshness and beauty of nature create a relaxing atmosphere for any kind of wedding celebration. This type of venue offers a laid-down and natural atmosphere where guests enjoy Mother Nature’s beauty. It’s perfect for the couple that want a simple, casual wedding while incorporating the outdoors.

To create the perfect outdoor setting, use more lighting than what you’ll think you require. Days are getting shorter so you’ll want adequate lighting depending on the time of day of your celebration. Warm color palettes would include burnt oranges, ivories, muted greens and matte gold. Decor would incorporate fall leaves and wheat, so there’s lots of opportunities to incorporate interesting design elements and texture into your wedding day. Also consider temperature fluctuations too; it’ll likely be warm during the day and chilly at night once the sun starts setting.

Apple Orchard Wedding Theme
@nicolegeriphotography

An autumnal setting accented throughout by bushels of apples for a September bride would be perfect. Maybe it’s because of the seasonal availability of the delicious Fall apple harvest; we don’t know – but we do think it’s lovely!

In addition to using apples and apple products as decor (how cute would it be to use apples as seat markers!), make sure your reception menu includes apple products as well. Your appetizers could feature apple jelly; main courses could be served with a side of apple chutney and the desserts including your wedding cake could feature an apple-forward theme as well.

Hallowe’en Wedding Theme
@sdpremier_partyrentals

If you love Hallowe’en but don’t want to make it look like a huge treat or treat event, then we’ve got a few elegant ideas for you!

First of all, steer clear of the usual, expected Hallowe’en decor items such as cobwebs, spiders, skeletons and a black / orange color palette. Instead, think black, purple and silver or black, red and gold for your color palette instead. Sophisticated, elegant with just a nod to Hallowe’en.
